About the Event
During the last 27 years, the MLK Day of Service has grown, and its impact has increased as more of us in America embrace the idea that citizenship involves taking an active role in improving local communities. Green Team Urbana has organized an MLK event for the past four years.
Here is more about our volunteer event:
Join your neighbors to keep our forests healthy. We will focus on the forest behind the Urbana library. This is also the site of a volunteer reforestation effort from 2020. Winter is a great time to remove invasives, as they are more accessible this time of year.
We need volunteers to help:
*remove invasive honeysuckle - both bush and vines - and multiflora rose
*pick up trash
